Technical support centers thrive in Westerville which is accessible to a skilled and available workforce, as well as a low cost of doing business. Westerville is also home to a unique city-owned data center and the associated telecommunications infrastructure, including dark fiber rings, to support the technology needs of customer and technical support businesses.

Otterbein University, located in Westerville, offers degrees in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, human resources management, international business management, management and marketing. In addition, Otterbein offers an interdisciplinary major in systems engineering, which also provides students the opportunity to participate in a pathway program at Columbus State Community College. The University’s Department of Mathematics offers a degree in computer science, which has a curriculum designed to the national guidelines of the Association of Computing Machinery. 

The Ohio State University (OSU), located in Columbus, has been recognized as the 16th best public university by U.S. News and World Report and was ranked 9th among U.S. public research universities based on research expenditures. The Ohio State Fisher College of Business offers bachelor’s degrees in information systems and business. In addition, Ohio State has bachelor’s and graduate degree programs in computer engineering. 

Columbus State Community College in Columbus offers programs in business and marketing, as well as computers and interactive media.
