The Joint Economic Development Zone (JEDZ) represents the latest in a series of collaborative initiatives between the City of Westerville and neighboring Blendon Township. In accordance with the terms of the JEDZ agreement, the City and the Township will promote economic development by providing service and infrastructure improvements to the businesses located both within the JEDZ and the township at large.

The City of Westerville and Blendon Township have a long history of collaboration and cooperation, most notably in the sharing of fire protection and safety services through the Westerville Division of Fire. The JEDZ is another example of how cities and townships can work together for the economic benefit of businesses and residents in both communities.
